At first it seems that building an email list is the long process. You can use good SEO, great website content, and more to get visitors to your site and eventually people will slowly sign up for your newsletter. But, you can speed up the process, if you know what to do.
- 1. Host a Contest – One really great way to get some buzz going, a buzz that will create a boost of sign-ups for your email list, is to host a contest. To be the most effective, the contest should be related to your niche, and something only your ideal prospective subscribers want to participate in, and get excited enough to spread the word about your contest.
- 2. Host, or participate in Webinars – People love live webinars, and replays of webinars. You can do both to help build your list. Create a topic, and get others to participate with you, and together you can market the event, which will grow your list.
- 3. Social Media Advertising – With social media ads, especially on Facebook, you can laser target your audience, so you can be sure to attract the right people to your list. Link the advertisement to a freebie download, which will get them on your list.
- 4. Create Amazing Freebies – When you create your freebie, you want it to be representative of your products and services. It should also be targeted to your audience in such a way, that no one outside of your audience would even want it.
- 5. Public Speaking – It might seem weird to speak in public to build your email list, but if you give people a way to sign up, such as a handout with a QR code, and a free gift, you will get many people signing up for your list, during and after your event.
- 6. Joint Ventures – If you can get involved with people who are successful marketers, who sell complementary products and services, get together, and do an event, a blog tour, or a webinar together. You will both end up with access to each other’s lists.
- 7. Create an awesome Bio – On social media, on your website, and any place your bio appears, write a bio that is targeted toward your exact audience. The audience that you want to sign up for your email list. Tell them to sign up to learn more, and keep in touch.
- 8. Define Your Unique Selling Proposition (USP) – One thing that will help you when you are writing sales pages, and bios, is to learn what your USP is. Knowing your USP will make your offerings, your business, and your products, or services more targeted.
- 9. Posters, Flyers, Business Cards – Online or offline, let people know who you are, what you do, and how you can help them improve their business, or their life situation.
- 10. Solo Ads – One of the best ways to build your list is by using other people’s lists. There are a lot of list owners, who allow you to send solo mailings to their list. Not for free, of course, but you will pay them by the clicks you are getting to your optin page. A word of caution, take the time to check out each vendor you want to use, it is time well spent … CAUTION!
